STAND T.A.L.L. Helps “Homeless” K-9 After Helene

“Homeless” K-9 Axel of the Yancey County Sheriff's Office was one of the many victims of Hurricane Helene. The winds and water washed away Axel’s doghouse and everything attached to it. Axel was fine, and his handler temporarily kept him inside while they looked for funding to rebuild Axel’s home.

STAND T.A.L.L.’s K-9 Project Leader and VP, Sharon Hanson heard about Axel’s situation and asked her Board to donate the funds, over $2000, to provide the lumber enabling the members of the Sheriff’s Office to rebuild and fully restore Axel’s home with a brand new one. Hanson said, “This is just one aspect of what our organization does as part of its Mission to provide funds for unbudgeted needs are area Law Enforcement.”

Yancey County Sheriff, Shane Hilliard said, “Axel’s a part of our team, and we’re very grateful to STAND T.A.L.L. for their quick response and generosity to help us remedy this devasting situation.”
