For the past several years, STAND T.A.L.L. has provided funds to cover 100% of all the costs for travel, hotel, food and the 3-day conference ticket costs to attend the 2025 International K-9 Cop Conference & Vendor Show in Nashville, TN. We have increased the number of handlers we have sponsored every year, and this year, we hope to send as many as 10 K-9 handlers to this event.

The handlers can attend over 40 different classes taught by 35 world class instructors that cover a wide range of relevant topics, and some sessions feature live K-9 demonstrations. Attendees receive a certificate certifying 16-hours of continuing law enforcement education.
Previous conference attendees have told us that they watch and learn new performance techniques, K-9 training and handling concepts and the conference was incredibly beneficial. They also enjoyed the opportunity to interact with more than 500 other K-9 handlers attending the conference from around the country and the world, several of whom brought their K-9 partners to the event.
For STAND T.A.L.L. president Ron Kauffman, VP and K-9 Project Leader, Sharon Hanson, have benefited by attending various training sessions, as well as meeting and talking with the many vendors of K-9 products and equipment at the trade pavilion. For them, the conference has proven to be an invaluable experience by helping them to better understand the specialized needs of the K-9s and handlers in the various divisions within the law enforcement departments in the 14 western North Carolina counties they currently serve.
Funding the K-9 handlers to enable them to attend this event is entirely dependent upon the support and generosity of donors who love the K-9s, and who want to show their support for the job the handlers and their K-9 partners do in their communities.
