With the pandemic in the rearview mirror, STAND T.A.L.L. again sponsored their annual Bike for the Blue motorcycle fundraising ride. This year’s route “The Sidewinder,” a 35-mile scenic ride with some challenging curves and turns along Route 9 south and great public exposure along 64-west to 7th Ave.
To provide safety and control of the ride, law enforcement from Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, Black Mountain Police Department, Hendersonville Police Department, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Patrol & the HCSO VIP officers provided the escort of the motorcycle ride to maintain reasonable speeds and keep the riders safe throughout the route.
STAND T.A.L.L. president, Ron Kauffman explained this current fundraising effort saying, “Our first ride in 2019 before the year-long Covid-19 lockdown was successful. Thanks to the logistical and marketing support of the Harley Davidson team this year, we were able to again return to making this an annual event.
“In 2020 STAND T.A.L.L. was awarded 1st Place as Winner of Best Non-Profit in the Best of Blue Ridge Competition, and while we may be well-known for our support of the K-9 departments of Henderson, Haywood, Polk, and Buncombe counties, we do much more. This fundraising event will help us to expand our geographical reach, as well as fund new programs. Our goal is to make a positive difference in local communities with our various projects throughout western North Carolina.”
To all of those that supported this year's event, thankyou!! Be on the lookout for information about Bike for the Blue 2022!
